My Story

A lifelong Louisvillian, David George had his introduction to the piano at an early age and was instantly enthused by the process of learning to play. It was not long before he was invited to play for various school and social functions in what would prove to be the beginning of his career as a musician. He received several awards during his schooling and was inducted into the WHS Hall of Fame in 2020.

David received his degree in Piano Performance from the University of Louisville School of Music where he studied with Lee Luvisi. He has worked at both the University of Louisville as Staff Pianist for vocals and instrumentals, and at Bellarmine University as a member of the Piano Faculty.
Over the years, David has enjoyed playing for many special occasions, from weddings, receptions and parties, to notable events such as the 2008 Ryder Cup closing ceremonies at Valhalla Golf Club, and the 2018 Clarinetfest in Oostende, Belgium.

David has worked with many local music organizations including The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts, Louisville Suzuki String Institute, All State Choir, All County Choir, Louisville Orchestra, and Kentucky Opera. He has been a masterclass pianist with many renowned artists such as Jamie Barton, Nathan Gunn, Jake Heggie, Amanda Majerski, Eric Owens, and Kelli O’Hara. Some esteemed performance collaborations include Sir Bryn Terfel, Christine Brewer, and Irish tenor Anthony Kearns with whom he has performed in numerous concerts across the country, including the pre-mass concert for Pope Francis in Philadelphia in 2015.

You may find David performing regularly with musicians in public and private venues as a chamber musician and accompanist, in a multitude of settings both in the U. S. and abroad, and is often seen on the concert stage in recital.
